Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Clark Painting & Drywall, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") handles information collected through this website. It applies to this website and to the forms on it. It does not apply to anything you send us by telephone, by post, or in person, and it does not apply to other websites we link to.

We are a painting and drywall company based in Wasilla, Alaska. We work on residential and commercial property, and the information we ask for exists to let us answer you, price work accurately, and carry it out.

If you would rather not send anything through this website, you do not have to. Every form on the site has a telephone number beside it.

We collect information when you choose to send it. There are three forms on this website, and each asks for what it needs and nothing more.

The contact form

When you send us a message through the Contact page, we collect your name, your email address, your telephone number if you give one, the city you mention if you give one, how you would like us to reply, what your message is about, and the message itself.

The estimate request

When you ask us to price a project through the Estimate Request page, we collect your name, email address, and telephone number, how and when you prefer to be contacted, the address or city of the property, whether it is a home or a business, the type and approximate size of the project, when you would like the work done, a budget range if you choose to indicate one, and your description of the work.

The employment application

When you apply for work through the Careers page, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, the city you are based in, the position you are applying for, your experience and availability, anything you tell us about your background, a link to your work if you provide one, and how you heard about us.

We do not ask for a date of birth, a social security number, bank details, or any information about your health, and you should not send any of those through this website.

Two of the forms let you attach files, and both are optional.

Project photographs

The estimate request accepts photographs of the space you would like worked on. They help us price a project accurately, and they often save a visit. Please do not include people in them, and please do not send anything you would not want us to keep on file.

Résumés

The employment application accepts a résumé as a document. We read what you send and consider it for the position you applied for and for others like it.

Files you attach are checked before they are accepted, are held where they cannot be reached from this website, and are never published, listed, or made available at a public address. We do not use your photographs in our portfolio, in advertising, or anywhere else without asking you first and separately.

A file that is not one of the accepted formats, or that is larger than the form allows, is refused at the point you send it. The form tells you which file was refused and why.

Like most websites, this one runs on a web server that keeps a record of the requests made to it. Those records typically include the network address the request came from, the date and time, the page or file requested, and the browser and operating system reported by the device.

Those records exist to keep the site running and secure — to find broken links, to diagnose errors, and to identify automated abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything you send us through a form.

We do not ask this website to determine your precise location, and we do not use device fingerprinting.

This website sets one cookie, named cp_session, and only on the pages that carry a form. Its single purpose is to confirm that the form being submitted was given to the same browser that is submitting it, which is what prevents a form on this site from being submitted from somewhere else on your behalf.

It holds no name, no identifier that means anything outside your own visit, no preferences, and no record of the pages you have looked at. It cannot be read by scripts, it is not sent to anyone else, and it is discarded when you close your browser.

Because that cookie is strictly necessary for the form to work, it is set without asking you. Every other page on this site sets no cookie at all.

We set no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no cookies belonging to anyone else.

We do not use analytics on this website. No analytics service, tag manager, advertising pixel, social media tracker, or third-party script that reports your behaviour to anybody runs on any page of this site.

That means we cannot tell you which pages you personally have read, because we do not know. It also means there is nothing here to opt out of.

If that ever changes, this section will say what is in use, what it collects, and how long it keeps it, and the change will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.

We use what you send us for the following purposes, and for nothing else:

• To answer your question, reply to your message, or return your call.
• To understand, price, schedule, and carry out work you have asked us about.
• To consider you for employment, and to contact you about your application.
• To keep ordinary business records of the work we have quoted and completed, including for warranty, tax, insurance, and accounting purposes.
• To improve how we work — for example, by noticing that a question comes up often enough to belong on the website.
• To protect this website and our business from fraud, abuse, and automated misuse.
• To comply with the law, and to respond to a lawful request from a public authority or a court.

If we ever want to use what you have sent us for something else — a photograph of your finished project in our portfolio, for instance — we will ask you first, and you are free to say no.

Some of what a privacy policy has to say is what a company does not do. In our case:

• We do not sell your information. Not to anybody, for any price.
• We do not rent, trade, or otherwise make your information available to another company for its own marketing.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us. If you ask a question, you get an answer, and that is the end of it.
• We do not send you marketing you did not ask for, and we do not use automated sequences of emails.
• We do not share what you send with other clients, other applicants, or anybody else who has no part in answering you.
• We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

We keep what you send us only as long as we have a reason to, and no longer than the periods below.

Estimate requests and project photographs

Up to 24 months, so that if you come back to a project we can pick up where we left off rather than starting again.

Messages sent through the contact form

Up to 24 months, so we have the history of the conversation if you write to us again.

Employment applications and résumés

Up to 12 months, so we can consider you for current and future positions.

Records of work we have quoted or completed

For as long as we need them as business records — including for warranty, tax, insurance, and accounting purposes — which may be longer than the periods above.

Web server records

For the short period our hosting provider retains them, which is measured in weeks rather than years.

You can ask us to delete what we hold about you sooner than this. How to do that is in the section on your choices below.

Information you send through a form on this website is transmitted over an encrypted connection.

Forms on this site are protected against being submitted from somewhere else on your behalf, and against automated abuse. Files you attach are checked before they are accepted, and anything we keep is held where it cannot be reached from this website.

Access to what you send is limited to the people at our company who need it to answer you or to do the work.

We should be straightforward about the limits of this. No website and no company can promise that information sent over the internet is perfectly secure, and we do not make that promise. What we can say is that we do not collect more than we need, we do not keep it longer than we said we would, and we do not pass it on.

We use a hosting provider to run this website. In doing so it necessarily handles the information that passes through the site, and it does so on our instructions rather than for its own purposes.

We use ordinary business tools — for email, for accounting, for scheduling — in the same way any small company does. Where one of them handles information you have sent us, it does so on our behalf.

We do not give anybody your information for their own marketing, and we do not allow any provider to use it for anything other than what we have engaged them to do.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, where a court orders it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our safety, or somebody else's.

This website may link to other websites — a paint manufacturer, a supplier, a trade association. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content, and this policy does not apply to them.

If you follow a link away from this site, what happens next is governed by that site's own privacy policy. We would encourage you to read it, particularly before sending it anything.

You can ask us:

• What information we hold about you.
• To correct anything about it that is wrong.
• To delete it, unless we are required to keep it or need it for a project or a legal obligation we have already explained.
• To stop contacting you.

Write to info@clarkpaintingdrywall.com and tell us what you would like. We will reply within thirty days, and usually sooner. We may need to ask you something to confirm who you are before we act, which is a protection for you rather than an obstacle.

There is no charge for any of this, and asking will not affect how we treat you, price your work, or consider your application.

If we cannot do what you have asked — because a record has to be kept for tax purposes, for example — we will tell you why rather than simply declining.

This website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, we do not knowingly collect information from anybody under thirteen, and nothing on the site is designed to appeal to a child.

If you believe a child has sent us information through this website, please write to us at the address below and we will delete it.

We may update this policy — because the law changes, because we start using a tool we did not use before, or because something here turns out to be less clear than we thought.

When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what we do with information you have already sent us, we will say so plainly rather than relying on the date alone.

The version published here is the one that applies.
