It depends on the discipline and the condition of what we find. Interior repaints move room by room and are paced by preparation and drying times; exterior work is paced by the weather window; drywall repair adds finishing and sanding stages before painting can begin at all.

As a guide, many projects typically fall within these ranges: a single room in one to two working days; several rooms in three to seven; a whole-home interior in one to three weeks; cabinet refinishing in one to two weeks; drywall repair and repaint in one to five working days; and an exterior repaint in anywhere from several days to two weeks, depending on weather and preparation. Small commercial projects are usually phased into evenings, weekends, or off-hours where that is practical.

These are examples rather than guaranteed schedules — timing depends on preparation, access, drying conditions, and scope. We walk the project, then give you a written schedule before work begins, and tell you promptly if anything about it changes.

Yes. We prepare samples so colours can be judged in the actual light of the room rather than under store lighting, which matters a great deal in Alaska, where the same wall reads differently in June and December.

We also advise on sheen and durability by room, since a hallway, a bathroom, and a cabinet door are asked to survive very different things. If you are working with an architect or interior designer, we follow their specifications and coordinate with them directly.

Yes, and in most cases they should be. Repair, patching, texture matching, skim coating, and sanding all belong to the same discipline as painting, so both are handled by one crew under one schedule.

That keeps responsibility for the finished surface in one place instead of divided between trades, and it removes the argument about whose work a visible seam belongs to.

The right product is decided by the surface and the conditions it faces, not by habit. Substrate, exposure, moisture, temperature at application, and how heavily the surface is handled all narrow the choice before any brand is considered.

In practice, we work most often with the premium and professional lines from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore, use PPG products where they suit the application, and reach for Zinsser primers and specialty sealers on problem surfaces — stains, tannin bleed, smoke, or a substrate that will not otherwise hold a finish. Caulks, patching compounds, drywall materials, and protective products are selected the same way.

We are not tied to a single manufacturer, so final selection depends on the surface, its exposure, the finish and durability you are after, the coatings already in place, Alaska’s climate, and your own preferences. We will explain what we are recommending for your project and why before work begins, including where a more durable product is worth the difference and where it would not change the outcome.

Yes. Most of our residential work happens in occupied homes, and it is planned that way: work is staged room by room so you keep usable space, floors and furnishings are protected before we start, and areas are left orderly at the end of each day.

Our primary service area is Wasilla, Palmer, Big Lake, Houston, Eagle River, Anchorage, and the surrounding Mat-Su Valley. Many routine projects fall within roughly 60 to 75 driving miles of Wasilla.

Beyond that, larger, specialty, lodge, and remote projects are considered individually, judged on scope, scheduling, access, lodging, and travel. If your property sits farther out, please ask — the honest answer depends on the project and the season.
